Design and Evaluation of a Low-Cost Infrared Camera-Based Positioning System

Positioning systems are used in a wide variety of areas such as film animation, vehicle navigation or to control avatars in video games. There are not only many possible applications, but also many different implementations with different requirements and technologies. In this thesis, a low-cost positioning system is developed and evaluated for the use in Education Labs. The system is based on an IR camera and several infrared LEDs on objects to detect their position on a table.
